Can I get my unused balance refunded?

By BananaBanana TeamPublished Last checked

Short answer

Yes. You can request a refund of the unused part of your balance at any time while the account is active — there is no deadline, and the balance itself never expires. We return what you topped up and have not spent, minus promotional bonus credits. Generations that fail or are blocked by the safety classifier are refunded to your balance automatically, with no request needed.

01In detail

Unused balance

Write to support from the address on your account and ask for the unspent part back. There is no window to catch: the rule used to be 14 days from payment, which sat badly next to a balance that never expires, so the deadline was removed entirely in September 2026.

What comes back is what you paid in and have not consumed. Bonus credits granted by a promo code or a volume tier are promotional, not money you deposited, so they are excluded from the calculation — as is anything already spent on completed generations, where the compute has been paid for on our side.

Failed generations

These need no ticket at all. A generation that fails, times out, or is rejected by the provider's safety classifier returns its charge to your balance by itself, usually within seconds of the failure being recorded. Partially delivered video — some variants produced, others filtered — is refunded proportionally.

That is the reason an outage never costs you money even though there is no SLA: you are not billed for work that did not arrive.

How a refund is paid

Refunds go back through the original payment route. For a crypto deposit that is a stablecoin transfer to the address the deposit came from; on-chain transfers cannot be reversed once broadcast, which is exactly why the minimum top-up is small and the balance has no expiry — there is no reason to hold a large float here. For a card, PayPal or SEPA deposit the money goes back through PayPal.

If a payment went wrong, contact support before attempting anything else. Most billing problems are resolved faster than a dispute, and an account whose balance came from a reversed payment can be suspended until the matter is settled.

02Step by step

What to do about it

  1. Email support from your account address

Use the address the account is registered to — it is how we match the request to the balance.

  2. Say how much and where

State that you want the unused balance refunded and give the payout address if it differs from the one you paid from.

  3. Expect a reply in 3 business days

Billing requests are answered within three business days; the transfer follows once the amount is agreed.

More on this question

Does my balance expire if I stop using the account?

No. It stays until you spend it or ask for it back.

How small can a top-up be?

Crypto minimums start around $1 depending on the coin and network; card, PayPal and SEPA top-ups start at $20. Topping up in small amounts is the sensible way to use the service.

Are bonus credits refundable?

No. Volume bonuses and promo-code credits are promotional and are excluded from a cash refund, though they spend exactly like the rest of the balance.

What if a generation half-worked?

You are charged for what was delivered. Blocked or failed variants inside a multi-variant job are refunded proportionally, automatically.
