Announced September 30, 2026
Google's frontier model for long, multi-step work: software engineering, legal and finance workflows, cyber defense. Developer access opened on October 13.
Rumor tracker · Google Nano Banana 3 Pro · not announced
On October 12, 2026 an internal model name, Gempix 3 Pro, surfaced in Google's image tooling. That single find is behind every "Nano Banana 3 Pro" (or "Nano Banana Pro 3") headline. Google hasn't announced the model, a date or a price. This page keeps the claims apart from the facts and will be rewritten the day the model ships, the way our Nano Banana 2.1 page was. Until then, Nano Banana Pro runs here from $0.11 per image, no subscription.

Nano Banana 3 Pro is the expected name of Google's next flagship image model, the successor to Nano Banana Pro (Gemini 3 Pro Image). As of this writing it exists only as a leak. On October 12, 2026 TestingCatalog reported references to a model called "Gempix 3 Pro" inside Google's image citation system: the mechanism that checks a generated image against existing references (Shutterstock and Pinterest content among them) and blocks the result when it's too close. "Gempix" is the internal label Google has used before public Nano Banana names, so the outlet read it as Nano Banana 3 Pro. Google hasn't confirmed the model, the name or any timeline.
The reports say "Nano Banana 3 Pro", by analogy with the family's current names: Nano Banana 2 is the fast tier and Nano Banana Pro the high end, so the third generation's high end would be "3 Pro". "Nano Banana Pro 3" is the same rumor written the other way round, and you'll meet both in search. Neither name is Google's; the only one that actually appeared in code is Gempix 3 Pro. This page says "Nano Banana 3 Pro" and will switch to whatever Google ships.

Everything a buyer would care about: resolution tiers, how many reference images it takes, whether it keeps the thinking pass and Search grounding of Nano Banana Pro, the API id and the price. Articles listing "Nano Banana 3 Pro features" are extrapolating from the current model. We'll add the specs the day Google publishes a model card, not before.
Google's image models tend to show up under a Gempix label before they get a banana name. That history is the whole basis for reading "Gempix 3 Pro" as Nano Banana 3 Pro, so here it is, with what's confirmed and what isn't.
August 2025
A model labelled "Gempix" surfaced in Google's Whisk tool shortly before Google shipped the first Nano Banana, Gemini 2.5 Flash Image, on August 26, 2025.
November 2025
"GEMPIX2" cards appeared in the Gemini web app days before Nano Banana Pro (Gemini 3 Pro Image) launched on November 20, 2025. Nano Banana 2 (Gemini 3.1 Flash Image) followed in February 2026. The codename number and the public number have never matched one to one, which is why "3 Pro" is a reading, not a fact.
September 30, 2026
Google announced its new frontier model, first for a limited group of cyber defenders. The announcement covers coding, enterprise work and video understanding. It says nothing about image generation.
October 6, 2026
The model the internet had called "Nano Banana 2.5" launched as Nano Banana 2.1, built on Gemini 3.6 Flash. Our page on it was written from leaks in September and rewritten on launch day, the plan for this page too.
October 12, 2026
TestingCatalog finds "Gempix 3 Pro" in Google's image citation system and reports a Gemini 4 Argon base. MarsForTech posts that the model is still in training, with a tentative November–December window and a name that may change.
October 13, 2026
Argon reaches the Gemini API, AI Studio and Google AI Pro and Ultra subscribers. If Nano Banana 3 Pro really is built on it, the base model is now public. The image model isn't.
November–December 2026?
Nobody at Google has given a date. Nano Banana Pro shipped two days after Gemini 3 Pro, the model it's built on. If Google keeps that pace, an Argon-based image model wouldn't trail Argon's October 13 developer release by much; if not, the window slips. Treat the dates as a guess.
The leak's most concrete claim is the base model. Here's what Google has actually said about Gemini 4 Argon, and what past base-model jumps did to the Nano Banana family.
Google's frontier model for long, multi-step work: software engineering, legal and finance workflows, cyber defense. Developer access opened on October 13.
Output expanded from 64K to 1M tokens, built for long reasoning traces. For an image model, more room to reason before drawing is the part that would matter.
Google reports a state of the art on LVBench (91.7%) for long-video and chart understanding. Reading images well isn't the same as generating them, but it's the input side of the same job.
Introductory API price until November 30, then $4 / $20. Image output is billed per image, so this says little about what Nano Banana 3 Pro would cost.
Google's post doesn't mention Nano Banana, image output or a Pro image model. The Argon link rests on TestingCatalog's findings alone.
Argon in the API returns text. Whatever Gempix 3 Pro is, it hasn't appeared in the Gemini API model list, in AI Studio or in the Gemini app.
The Gemini 3 Pro base gave Nano Banana Pro the things that still define it: 2K and 4K output, a thinking pass before rendering, Search grounding and legible dense text. The Gemini 3.6 Flash base behind Nano Banana 2.1 nearly tripled Google's infographic factuality score (0.179 to 0.521 on its model card) and lifted preference Elo from 990 to 1050. A Gemini 4 base is a bigger step than either, so a step change rather than a tuning pass is the reasonable expectation. Which capabilities it lands on is unknown.
Nano Banana Pro is Gemini 3 Pro Image, released November 20, 2025: 1K, 2K and 4K output, a thinking pass before rendering, reference images for characters and products, and text that holds up in posters and UI mockups. The full rundown with test renders is on the Nano Banana Pro page.
Before Nano Banana 2.1 had a name, we ran two prompts through Nano Banana 2 so the comparison would be ready on launch day. Same idea here. Both images below are unedited first attempts from Nano Banana Pro at 1K, $0.11 each on BananaBanana. When Nano Banana 3 Pro ships, the same prompts go through it and the results land next to these.
The prompt asked for a poster on a concrete wall with the headline "MIDNIGHT ORCHARD", the line "Live at Harbor Hall, October 14, Doors 7:30 PM" and "$25 at the door" at the bottom, in a risograph print style.
Nano Banana Pro

The prompt asked for an educational infographic with the Sun and the eight planets in order, each labelled by name, sizes roughly to scale, Saturn with rings, and the title "OUR SOLAR SYSTEM".

Two prompts aren't a benchmark; they're a fixed reference. Both are tasks Pro already passes, so the interesting question for 3 Pro isn't whether it passes but whether it still does on the first try at a harder setting: a poster with a paragraph of body copy, an infographic with numbers in it. We'll add those tiers when there's something to compare.
There is no price. Nothing in the leak mentions billing, and Google publishes image prices only with a model card. What we can show is what the Pro tier costs today and how the family is priced, which is the best available guide to where a new Pro would land.

Prices are per image. A dash means the model doesn't offer that size; the Nano Banana 3 Pro row stays empty until Google publishes the model. Crypto top-ups of $50 add 5% to your balance and $100 adds 10%; an active promo code adds another 10% on top of the same deposit.
Google's Gemini API lists Nano Banana Pro at about $0.134 per image at 1K and 2K and $0.24 at 4K. When the fast tier moved from Nano Banana 2 to 2.1, Google's price per image roughly halved at 1K and 2K. Whether 3 Pro repeats that or prices up for a bigger base is unknown. On BananaBanana the Pro tier is $0.11 at 1K and 2K and $0.20 at 4K, at or below Google's list price, and the day 3 Pro ships it gets priced the same way: per image, no subscription, listed next to the family.

Not on the evidence so far. The leak comes from one outlet, the date is a guess and Google has shipped nothing. Treat it as something to track, not to schedule around. Nano Banana Pro covers the flagship cases today, Nano Banana 2.1 covers volume work at a fraction of the price, and prompts written for either will carry over to a 3 Pro the way Nano Banana 2 prompts carried over to 2.1.
What's worth preparing: a set of your own hard prompts and their current Pro renders, like the two above. A launch-day comparison on your own work tells you more than any benchmark table, and costs $0.11 per image to run. Pricing and plan details for the current model are on the Nano Banana Pro price page.
Google's image models go live here at release: Nano Banana 2.1 was in the picker the day after Google's October 6 launch. Nano Banana 3 Pro will show up next to Nano Banana Pro, not replace it.
Agents on Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor or any MCP client call generate_image with the new model id; list_models returns the price before you spend anything.
Agents without an account pay per image in USDC over x402, at the same price as the studio.
Agent setup is on the MCP page, the pay-per-call flow in its x402 section. This page's address stays the same after launch, so bookmark it: the content will be rewritten with the model card, the price and the two comparisons above. Read the guideNo. As of mid-October 2026 Google hasn't announced it. The only evidence is an internal name, Gempix 3 Pro, reported by TestingCatalog on October 12, 2026. Nano Banana Pro, from $0.11 per image, is the current flagship on BananaBanana.
Unknown. The MarsForTech post behind the story gives a tentative November–December 2026 window and says the model is still in training and the timing may change. Google hasn't given a date.
Reports use "Nano Banana 3 Pro", following the family's naming (Nano Banana 2, Nano Banana Pro). "Nano Banana Pro 3" is the same rumor spelled differently. Google has used neither; the string in its code is Gempix 3 Pro.
TestingCatalog says its findings point to Gemini 4 Argon, Google's frontier model announced on September 30 and opened to developers on October 13, 2026. Google hasn't confirmed an image model on Argon, and the announcement doesn't mention one.
No price has leaked. Today the Pro tier is $0.11 per image at 1K and 2K and $0.20 at 4K on BananaBanana; Google's API lists Nano Banana Pro at about $0.134 and $0.24. We'll publish the 3 Pro price the day it ships.
Google hasn't said. When Nano Banana 2.1 arrived, Nano Banana 2 was marked deprecated at Google with no shutdown date, and both stayed available on BananaBanana. Expect the same: the new model added, the old one kept until Google retires it.
Nothing has leaked about a Flash-tier "Nano Banana 3". The fast tier was only just updated: Nano Banana 2.1 shipped on October 6, 2026. Pages promising Nano Banana 3 features today are guessing.
Google's internal label for Nano Banana models before they're announced. "Gempix" preceded the first Nano Banana in 2025, "GEMPIX2" preceded the Gemini 3 generation, and "Gempix 3 Pro" is the new one. Third-party sites that call themselves Gempix are unrelated to Google.
New accounts start with $0.20 on the balance. Nano Banana Pro from $0.11 per image, no subscription. Nano Banana 3 Pro will be here the day it ships.
