Is BananaBanana safe to use for client work?

By BananaBanana TeamPublished Last checked

Short answer

For most client work, yes — with two limits worth knowing. There is no SLA: an outage or an upstream capacity problem can interrupt generation, though an interrupted generation is never billed. And generation requests leave our servers to reach Google's models, so material you are contractually required to keep confidential deserves a decision before you upload it rather than after.

01In detail

What is genuinely low risk

Concepts, moodboards, thumbnails, social content, product visuals built from assets you are free to share, drafts you will regenerate anyway — none of that exposes you to much. The financial exposure is bounded by design: top-ups start around a dollar, the balance never expires, unused balance is refundable with no deadline, and failed generations return their charge without a ticket.

Rights are not the issue either. What you generate is yours to use commercially on every account, with no watermark, no attribution requirement and no separate licence tier. The unsettled part of AI copyright — whether you can stop someone else reusing an output — is the same everywhere and has nothing to do with which generator produced it.

What to think twice about

Deadlines that cannot slip. Without an SLA, a capacity problem at the model provider is not something anyone here can escalate. Leave slack, or keep a second route for the shot that absolutely must land tonight.

Confidential source material. A generation request carries your prompt and reference media off our servers to the model. If a client contract forbids that, do not upload the material — describe it, or generate a stand-in instead.

Large prepaid balances. Crypto transfers are irreversible, and there is no chargeback behind them — paying by card, PayPal or SEPA (from $20) keeps the usual PayPal protections instead. Either way, top up in the amounts you are about to spend; the refund route exists but it is a conversation, not a button.

Retention. Files disappear after 30 days. For deliverables, download on the day you generate them and archive on your own storage — do not treat the account as a library.

How to reduce exposure

Keep a small working balance and top it up as you go. Download and archive deliverables immediately. Prefer synthetic people over references to real ones — a generated face carries none of the likeness risk of a recognisable one, and no upload means no question about where the photo travelled.

For anything under an NDA, ask support before you submit the job. There is no published data-processing agreement to sign, so the honest answer is that a written processing guarantee is something to discuss case by case rather than something the product ships with. If a client requires a signed DPA and a service level in writing, the models are also sold by Google directly — that is the right buy for that requirement.

More on this question

Is there an uptime guarantee?

No. Deploys are near-instant and interrupted generations are refunded, but no penalty is paid for downtime and none is promised.

What happens to my work if my account is closed?

Accounts are closed for content-policy breaches, not to keep a balance. Unspent balance stays refundable on the usual terms, which is why downloading deliverables promptly is worth the habit.

Can I sign a data-processing agreement?

There is no standard DPA published. Ask support with your requirement and we will tell you plainly what we can and cannot sign.

Do you keep my client's reference photos?

Uploaded source video is deleted within 24 hours, and generated output after 30 days. Reference images live with the generation record and go when it does.
