Product photography prompts that actually sell

Ten tested prompts for e-commerce hero shots, flat lays, splash photography and macro detail — each shown with the unedited image it produced and the exact model that made it. Copy any prompt, swap in your product, generate.

01How to prompt

How do you write a product photography prompt?

Describe the shot the way a studio photographer would brief it, not as a list of tags. A reliable structure is: shot type, product with two or three concrete details, surface and backdrop, lighting setup, and one finishing note about mood or lens. For example: “Studio product photograph of an amber glass serum bottle on a travertine pedestal, soft morning window light, shallow depth of field.” The models behind this page — Nano Banana 2, Nano Banana Pro and Nano Banana 2 Lite (Google’s Gemini image stack) — respond to photographic vocabulary: backdrop colors, light direction, reflections and lens hints all steer the result far more than words like “beautiful” or “8k”.

Every image on this page is the unedited first output of the prompt beside it, generated on BananaBanana. Draft compositions on Lite at $0.03 per image, then re-run the winning prompt on Nano Banana 2 or Pro for the final asset — prompts transfer between the three models without changes.

03Technique

What makes these work

Name the surface and backdrop

“Travertine pedestal”, “black slate”, “pale pink textured paper” — the surface sells the product as much as the light. Untold, the model defaults to a generic white table.

Describe light like a photographer

One light source, its direction and quality: “soft window light from the left”, “hard light raking from the side”, “backlit”. This is the single highest-impact line in a product prompt.

Draft on Lite, finalize on Pro

Composition and backdrop ideas cost $0.03 each on Nano Banana 2 Lite. Once a layout works, re-run the identical prompt on Nano Banana Pro at 2K or 4K for the store page.

Use your real product as a reference

All three models accept reference photos — upload your actual bottle or shoe and the prompt restyles the scene around it instead of inventing a lookalike.

06FAQ

Product photography prompts, answered

Which model is best for product photography prompts?

Nano Banana Pro renders the finest material detail — glass, brushed metal, liquid — and supports 4K output for store pages and print. Nano Banana 2 at $0.06 covers most catalog work. Lite at $0.03 is the drafting tool: same prompts, 1K output, perfect for testing compositions in bulk.

Can I put my own product into these prompts?

Yes. Upload up to 14 reference photos of your product and keep the prompt as the scene brief — the model preserves your product’s shape, label and colors while rebuilding the set, light and backdrop around it.

What resolution do I get?

Nano Banana 2 outputs 512px to 4K, Pro 1K to 4K, Lite is fixed at 1K. A 1K square is enough for marketplace listings; use 2K–4K for zoomable store pages and print.

How much does a set of product images cost?

A ten-image concept round on Lite is $0.30. A finished set of five Pro finals at 2K is $0.55. There is no subscription — you top up a balance with crypto from $1 and pay per image.

Copy a prompt, make it yours

Every new account starts with a free $0.10 balance — enough to test three image prompts before paying anything. No subscription, no credit card, crypto top-ups from $1.
